Golf Tournament
The Sporting Affair Golf Tourney is an annual event that supports athletic scholarships at Florida Tech. The format for the tournament is a four player team scramble. All four players will play from the tee. Select the best tee shot, then all four players play from the same location and continue to play from the best ball location until the ball as been holed.
Special events during the tournament include Hole-in-One Contests to win a car, Longest Drive for both men and women as well as Closest to the Pin for men and women. For $20, participants can also “Buy a Driver” have a Florida Tech Golfer drive for their team.
Registration opens at 11:00 a.m. with golfer receiving a box lunch, goodie bag and golf shirt. While your waiting to tee off, test your skills in the Putting Contest.
Mulligan tickets will be sold three for $20 (limit 3 per person) and one for $10.
The winners of the Sporting Affair Golf Tournament will be awarded the Flammio Trophy which will be inscribed with each member of the winning foursome’s names and will be displayed in the Florida Tech Clemente Center. This Waterford Crystal Trophy was donated in 2004 by then Sporting Affair Chairman Joseph Flammio and is used each year as the official trophy.
Prizes will be awarded to the teams finishing in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. The 1st place team will be awarded $100 gift certificates from Suntree Country Club, 2nd place team members will receive $50 gift certificates and 3rd place team members will receive $25 gift certificates.
The Callaway Scoring System will be used to score this event.
